Memorial Day 2025 delivered one of the most gripping and competitive Stones events in recent memory, capped by a dramatic championship series that saw Kade Sivak and Patrick Kelly emerge as back-to-back champions.

The weekend began under harsh conditions—wet and muddy terrain marked the first day of play, testing the balance and precision of every team. Despite the adversity, it was Lake Sivak and Bryce Deering who ended the day holding the championship title when they defeated Cam Nelson and Alex Milliner. Then the next day after a single successful defense, they fell to Peyton Sivak and Isac Pirello, who then controlled the course for the remainder of the day, showcasing consistency and tactical play heading into Sunday.

As bracket play began, Peyton and Isac earned the No. 1 seed with their dominant performance. Kade Sivak and Patrick Kelly, looking to defend their title from the previous year, secured the No. 2 seed, while Lake and Bryce came in at No. 3. Rounding out the bracket were Alex Milliner and Cam Nelson as the No. 4 seed—a pairing that would go on to shake up the tournament.

The semifinals opened with a statement. Milliner and Nelson, unshaken by their lower seed, upset top-seeded Peyton and Isac in a closely contested match, pulling away late with a few high-scoring stretches that sealed their place in the final. On the opposite side of the bracket, Kade and Pat found themselves trailing early against Lake and Bryce, but a pair of crucial 3-point plays flipped the momentum, leading to a decisive run and a ticket to the final.

Game one of the championship saw Milliner and Nelson jump out fast. With a 6-point play to open, they dictated the pace and never looked back, cruising to a 22-6 win that gave them the series lead. Game two, however, was a grind. Both teams traded single-point rounds in a tense back-and-forth battle until Pat Kelly delivered a knockout on the fifth stretch to win it 9-7 and even the series.

The deciding game three flipped the script from game one. This time it was Sivak and Kelly who came out hot with a 6-point opener and extended their lead to 9-3 by the fourth stretch. But the calm confidence of Milliner and Nelson showed through again, storming back with a 6-point swing to tie the match at 9-9.

With the win-by-two rule in effect, tension peaked on the fifth stretch. Cam Nelson landed a stone just six inches from the mark, putting the pressure squarely on Sivak and Kelly. Kade responded with a clutch knockout, replacing Cam’s stone with near perfection. That left just one throw needed to secure the title, and Pat Kelly wasted no time—landing it closer and sealing a dramatic victory.

With that final throw, Kade Sivak and Patrick Kelly etched their names in Stones history once more, successfully defending their title and claiming back-to-back Memorial Day championships. A fitting end to a weekend of resilience, rivalry, and relentless competition.
